INCASE, founded in 1990, is a professional association of professors, teachers, professionals, and programs specializing in addiction studies, including the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, other addictions, counselor preparation, prevention and treatment, research, and public policy.
About Us
The purpose of INCASE is to provide a global forum for the examination and debate of issues concerning post secondary education in addiction studies, and to enhance the quality of training and education in addiction studies, to disseminate professional knowledge and share ideas regarding addiction studies and scholarship in the field of addiction studies. To develop standards and implement an accreditation process for addictions studies programs within and between nations, states and provinces.
Members keep abreast of the developments in the field via annual conferences and regional meetings, the INCASE newsletter, the listserve, the INCASE professional journal now merging with AMERSA, participation in standing and ad hoc committees, and issues oriented task forces.
